State parks begin rental reservations

State parks begin rental reservations

There might still be snow on the ground but that won't stop the Minekill, Max V. Shaul, Schoharie Crossing Historic Site and other Capital District State Parks from planning for the upcoming summer season. State Park facilities are taking reservations now for picnic pavilions and tent rentals.

Because the demand is so high, many of the parks reservations are handled using a lottery system. The pavilions are great for family events, weddings, parties, picnics, business or organizational outings.

Those interested are encouraged to make their reservation early. The parks feature a full range of amenities from small private tents in secluded settings to large 200-person picnic pavilions with adjacent restrooms, recreational facilities, and parking. Prices range from $50 to $200.

Inquiries should be made directly to the park or site. The following is a list of parks and sites with pavilion and tent rentals available:

Minekill State Park, Schoharie County – 827-6111

Max V. Shaul State Park, Schoharie County – 827-6111

Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site, Schoharie County – 829-7516
