FEMA extends contract with Shoharie Sheriff's Dept. | Business
Schoharie County sheriff's deputies out of work since Tropical Storm Irene will continuing doing their temporary job for FEMA.
FEMA today announced an extension of the contract they had with the sheriff's department.
The deputies had been guarding storage for FEMA's temporary housing.
They have been unable to work at the county jail since it flooded in August.
The new $150,000 contract with FEMA lasts until June.
